1 cup apple, diced ( I normally use granny smith apples)
2 Tablespoons old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)Lightly grease two baking sheets, or use an 8" cake pan. I used this Scone pan from World Market.
In a large bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, sugar free brown sugar and cinnamon. Add the applesauce, egg whites, water and milk; mix well. Stir in apple pieces.
Drop large rounded spoonfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheets. Or form a loaf and cut into 8 wedges, separate slightly before baking.(you may want to make sure your hands are wet so that the batter doesn't stick to your hands.
(I sprinkled the tops with toasted oats and a bit of sugar free brown sugar.)
Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 15-20 minutes. Let cool before serving.
