I love using perforated parchment to line my Air Fryer basket, especially when cooking things like Hubby Lovin chicken breasts from the Trim Healthy Table Cookbook, and breaded porkchops.
The parchment sheets make clean up so much easier and helps to keep the breading intact on the foods that I am cooking, not to mention it is much kinder to our budget when I make my own.

I don’t remember exactly where I saw the recomendation to line my air fryer basket with parchement paper, but it has been a life saver in the clean up department. Especially as I recover from breaking my wrist.
You can purchase perforated parchment inserts that are already perforated from Amazon, but this tutorial will show you how to make your own from simple supplies that are readily available at your nearest Superstore.
Why I Like To Use Parchment In My Air Fryer
I like using parchment to line my air fryer basket for a few reasons.
- Using perforated parchment allows the air to circulate up and around my food.
- lining my basket with parchment cuts way back on the times that I have to soak it to get it cleaned up properly
- It minimizes the amount of food that gets stuck on my basketor falls into the bottom.
What You Need to Make Perforated Parchment
- Parchment Paper — I like to use these precut sheets
- Scissors
- A rotary cutter w/perforating blade
- A self healing mat (optional, but worth saving the counter tops) or a sheet of thick cardboard
- A Gallon Zip Top Bag for storage
How To Make Perforated Parchment Sheets
The first time I made these perforated parchment sheets I cut the sheets into quarters before rolling the perforator over them. Since that time I have found that I can run the rotary cutter with the perforating blade over the sheets before cutting them to the size that I like.
Using these Cookie Sheets has been really neat because they are pre cut to 13×9 and are creased into quarters in the box which makes cutting them with my scissors really easy.
I store the precut sheets in a gallon ziptop bag so that they are ready to go when I am.
