I’ve made these Homemade Ranch Seasoning Packets for many years. It was the most cost effective way to ensure that we never ran out of our favorite salad dressing and veggie dip “Ranch”.
When my boys were young they would dip everything from hot dogs to pizza in ranch dressing so it was something that I had to have on hand all the time. Since beginning my Trim Healthy Mama journey I’ve noticed that I do use ranch way more than I used to along with the Slim Belly Vinaigrette from the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook
(although I was making it long before the recipe was published…. shhhh)
Homemade Ranch Seasoning Packets are really easy to put together, and they make great gifts around the holidays.
It takes about 10-15 minutes to measure everything out and buzz it in a spice grinder or whisk it all together.
Here’s the product link on Amazon if you want to see if it fits your model. I love the coffee/spice grinder attachment that I have for my Ninja Blender like this one.
Here’s the Blender set up that I use.
One thing I really love to do is to mix one of these Homemade Ranch Seasoning Packets with my 5 Minute Mayo and some Greek Yogurt to keep on hand as a handy Dip, sometimes I make it that way and keep 1/2 as a dip and thin the other 1/2 into pour-able Ranch Salad Dressing.

- 3 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried chives
- 1½ teaspoons dried tarragon
- 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1½ teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- Place all ingredients in a spice grinder and buzz to combine.
- Separate mix into packets with 1 TBS per packet. Store in a cool dry place. Use within 6 months as spices tend to loose potency as they age.
Combine 1 packet with 1½ cup sour cream or low fat greek yogurt and ½ cup Mayonnaise.
Allow to sit for approx 30 minutes before serving.
You can thin mixture with almond milk or water to desired consistency.
Store in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
To Make Ranch Dressing (Makes aprox 2 cups)
Combine 1 packet with 1 cup sour cream or greek style yogurt and 2 Tablespoons (up to 1 cup Mayonnaise) thin with water to desired consistency.
Store in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
(Using 0% greek yogurt and low fat mayo would make this a FP dip for those following Trim Healthy Mama)
(Using full fat sour cream and/or mayo would make this a S dip for those following Trim Healthy Mama)
When making these as a gift I use small ziplock bags and top them with Cute Bag Toppers or in Seed Packets so that they stay fresh and are easily stored in a cabinet or cupboard.
I take them with us camping so that I’m not carrying a bunch of bottles and bowls and we mix it up as needed to conserve space, not to mention money.
They work well as a marinade and seasoning for Chicken and Pork or added to a Pot Roast in my Instant Pot like this one.
