I don’t know of anyone that doesn’t love a good fried or baked cheese stick! I know that for me these can trigger over eating so I have to make sure that I have someone to share with.
Having an air fryer allows me to make smaller batches of these to ensure that I stay focused on my trim healthy goals.
THM Allows You To Not Be Left Out
Sometimes we just need to indulge so we do not feel like we are being left behind, especially at gatherings like Super Bowl Parties that will be happening here this weekend.
You could make up a batch of these low carb, keto and THM friendly cheese sticks to serve to your guests or to take with you so that you can stay “on plan” and reach your own personal goals in healthy eating.
My Favorite Breading Recipe
My personal favorite breading recipe is my Mama’s Bake & Fry Mix. I have used a basic mix like this since before I switched to a Trim Healthy Lifestyle. It makes amazing breaded chicken, pork, steak and what ever else you like to coat and bake or fry.
** Kosher Mama’s: Use the breading from the Snatch Em Up Chicken Tenders (Trim Healthy Table, page 238) OR the Hubby Lovin’ Chicken (Trim Healthy Table page 218).
Air Fried or Baked Low Carb Cheese Sticks Recipe
- Serves: 3
- Calories: 215
- Fat: 14g
- Carbohydrates: 6g
- Sodium: 540mg
- Fiber: 0g
- Protein: 18g
- Cholesterol: 31mg
- 6 ounces string cheese (I used mozzarella)
- 2 tablespoons 0% greek yogurt
- ½ cup Mama's Bake & Fry Mix
- Cut your Cheese Sticks in half.
- Coat them with the yogurt and roll in the Mama's Bake & Fry Mix. Set on a plate and freeze for 3-5 minutes
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 360 degrees or the oven to 350 degrees.
- Remove cheese sticks from the freezer and place into the air fryer basket or onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Cook for 10 - 12 minutes or until cheese is soft.
