Removing odors from your air fryer can be done a couple different ways. Personally, I would rather not have my food smell or taste like plastic or burnt grease. Something about cake tasting like an herby chicken bake just doesn’t cut it around here.

Just like needing to remove odors from your oven, you may need to do so with your air fryer also. Sure we typically wipe it down on the inside and wash the racks or the drawer and basket to keep the grease and food particles from building up and making our food taste weird. But occasionally we also need to clean it of heavier odors too.
I use this cleaning technique to remove odors from both of my air fryers as well as my microwave. It is super simple and works like a charm. with no heavy chemicals or cleaners.
Having a simple healthy alternative to cleaning solutions makes my heart smile. I am not damaging the environment and don’t have to worry about what I am putting down my drain.
There are no heavy fumes from removing the odors from your appliances and nothing that is going to damage the appliance or cause skin irritations either.
When You Need To Remove Odors From An Air Fryer
When you are smelling burnt plastic?
Seeing smoke come out of the vents of your air fryer?
Cook something that leaves a lasting odor?
A Simple Solution To Removing Odors
My simple solution consists of things you already have in your kitchen so no need to search for a “specialty” cleaner.
1 ounce lemon juice, bottled or fresh
1 ounce of white vinegar
2 ounces of water
Place the ingredients into a small dish.
Set your air fryer to 400 degrees for about 2-3 minutes, turn it on.
Allow your air fryer to cool and then wipe it our with a damp cloth.
** you can repeat this process as needed until the odors are gone.
