The Different Air Fryers I Use
I use 3 styles of air fryers to develop and test these air fryer recipes. Each air fryer has quirks so you want to read through the posts to see different tips and strategies that work best in each fryer.
Power Air Fryer Oven (6qt)
This is my favorite air fryer so far. I use it almost daily because of its size and functionality.
Pros
- it has the ability to cook larger meals at one time
- it has a rotisserie spit
- it has a rotating basket
- it has stainless steel racks & accessories
- it has a kabob rack that rotates
Cons
- you have to rotate the shelves about halfway through the cooking cycle for even cooking
- the door on the rotating basket limits the size of ingredients that can be placed in it
- the door on the rotating basket is difficult to open when hot
NuWave Brio (3qt)
This drawer style air fryer was the first on that I tried. I used it for a year before getting my Power Air Fryer Oven.
Pros
- smaller footprint on your counter
- works great for crisping smaller batches of vegetables & foods
- is an amazing bread proofer
Cons
- cooks very small amounts of foods
- difficult to bake in
- must cook in batches
Mealthy CrispLid (6qt 0r 8qt Electric Pressure Cooker Accessory)
Pros
- It fits my 6qt Instant Pot Duo
- it stores easily since it doesn’t have to stay attached to my Instant Pot
- it came with the lind, a tall trivet that I can use for other recipes also
- it came with a 7″ basket that sits on the trivet
- it came with a set of tongs
- it came with a large silicone mat to set the hot lid on so it doesn’t burn my counter
Cons
- it requires a dry liner, so you have to remove foods from a wet application and wash and dry it before you can crisp anything.
- it can only be used with the stainless steel liner
- it can be hard to keep all the parts together unless you have a system
- the lid gets very hot to the touch
