Raspberry Custard Shake

May 3, 2017 by Judy Leave a Comment

Raspberry Custard Shake (THM S with NSI option)

This Raspberry Custard Shake is such a great way to start your day!!

It’s rich creamy and oh so satisfying!! When I combine eggs and cottage cheese this raspberry custard shake becomes a wonderful protein enriched shake without having to buy Whey Isolate. Which helps keep these shakes budget friendly for all of us Trim Healthy Mamas.

Introducing a Raspberry Custard Shake that mimics my Creamy Vanilla Custard Shake which has been such a blessing to me and so many mama’s. This slightly fruity version incorporates a few of my favorite things. Come enjoy one with me.

How to use cooked Eggs in this Raspberry Custard Shake

You can use an egg or egg white that has been scrambled in coconut oil

A Boiled or Steamed egg is also a great way to add healthy protein and fat to this. You can see How I Steam Eggs in my Instant Pot here

Using Cottage Cheese to Bump Up the Protein

I use a small amount of fat free or 1% cottage cheese to bump up the protein

Using cottage cheese replaces the need for Whey Protein Isolate.

One thing to remember is that you can start stalling or gaining if you overdo the protein.( Ask me how I know– wink)

By using 1 egg and 2 Tbs of cottage cheese you are balancing the protein in a way that it’s not overkill.

A Versatile No Special Ingredients Shake

I love that this Raspberry Custard Shake can be made with different ingredients that can be found at any local grocery store. You can change up the eggs from cooked to raw if you like or even use a steamed/boiled egg in it’s place. If you choose to reduce the coconut oil/MCT oil to 1 teaspoon and use only egg whites this shake becomes a beautiful Fuel Pull option for those following Trim Healthy Mama.

Great Taste and Budget Friendly this Raspberry Custard Shake is sure to be a Family Favorite. You can use a full shake as a meal replacement or share it with your kids for a tasty treat to compliment a meal.

Mix it up and freeze it in popsicle molds like these for protein packed treats in the summer months.

Dump it into your ice cream maker and enjoy a wonderful ice cream custard treat.
