Every home has a variety of condiments lurking in the fridge. Ours is a bit different though because most of ours are homemade.
It really doesn’t take a lot of time or effort to make most of these and having homemade healthy condiments versus store-bought ones makes them healthier options. Healthier choices are one of my core reasons for following a Trim Healthy Mama Lifestyle.

Typically, I rotate which condiments I make each week so that nothing spoils and so that we have a variety to choose from as my husband gets bored if it is the same old thing week in and week out.
The only exceptions are homemade catsup, my 5 Minute Mayo, Creamy Caesar Salad Dressing, this Banging ‘;Bama White BBQ Sauce and the sauce from this Sugar Free Sweet and Smokey BBQ Chicken
Yes, this type of prep session makes a bit of mess and it sure is helpful if you have more than one set of measuring cups and spoons, but it really is worth the little bit of effort to keep us on plan.
Over the last few years I’ve found that making these items really helps to keep the excuses at bay and helps me feel more confident in my choices. Many of the bloggers that are sharing about their own journeys have also shared some great recipes for on plan homemade condiments.
I’d like to share a few of my personal favorites and the tools that I use to make and store these homemade condiments. so this may get a bit longer than my normal blog posts.
The tools I use to Make Homemade Condiments:
I love these Measuring cups and Spoons, they are affordable and come in a handy set with a “doonk” spoon and cups that measure up to 2 cups at a time.
I love my Immersion blender and have no idea what I’d do without it.
Make sure you have a good whisk or two also.
Most of the time I use a small glass mixing bowl or a 4 cup measuring cup like this.
I use wide mouth mason jars for things like this 5 Minute Mayo, which should really be about 2 minutes but hey, and the Banging ‘Bama White BBQ Sauce
Milk bottles for this Strawberry Barbecue Sauce and other thicker pour-able sauces or dressings like this Creamy Chili Pepper Salad Dressing
A glass cruet like this one for Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette or Roasted Red Pepper Vinaigrette and many more dressings and sauces when we have company.
I told you this was going to be a long post right? (I really do try to keep things short and sweet most of the time)
